I lead innovation and work closely with R&D, PD, and marketing teams to drive nuanced microbiome products from ideation through commercialization (Seed.com / Seed Health.com).

I joined Rootine as the first hire, working with the co-founders. We built a technology-centric personalized multivitamin company. I remained with the company through their Seed and Series A ($10m) funding rounds. As the team grew, I became product and innovation-focused and transitioned from Head of Business Development to Head of Innovation.

This eCommerce site supported dietary supplement compliance and leveraged tools to facilitate subscription ordering to manage a member’s full-stack nutritional supplement regimen.

A continuation of the Epibolics concepts, BioKno was a D2C at-home (and ordering for in-clinic) biomarker testing program, including lab-validated cardiometabolic, cortisol/DHEA, mineral, and vitamin testing. SuppKno was a dietary supplement add-on business making recommendations based on the biomarker results.

Raised $10k through a crowd-funding platform to develop multi-nut and multi-seed nutritional butter. D2C shipping and retail logistics were challenging. We saw an underserved local and national market in small-scale (50-50,000 lbs) production and delivery of pure, unadulterated nut butters, including peanut, almond, cashew, pecan, pistachio, and more. Built a business around a natural, dermatologist-designed formulation targeting dermal endocannabinoid type 2 receptor to induce a strong, local anti-inflammatory effect. Applications ranged from daily skincare to clinical uses for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and radiation burns. We failed to secure appropriate funding to scale production and commercialization activities. My partners were a board-certified dermatologist and HBS graduate.

After deciding business was a better path than medicine, my first venture was a “lifestyle as medicine“ company focused on five productized pillars; sleep, exercise, nutrition, stress, and supplementation. We built a custom supplement line and found our niche in blood sugar management and insulin resistance, working primarily with pre-, type 1 performance athletes, and type 2 diabetes. We launched at-home testing of blood biomarkers in 2015. My partner was a board-certified functional pharmacist.

In undergrad, I combined my life-long love for athletics with in-classroom education (biology, chemistry, biochem, etc.) to create real-world health experiments. I documented these experiments in blog format.
